The Expert talk on " Understanding Compensation for Manager '' was successfully conducted on Friday, May 20 between 1:30 and 3:00 pm. The speaker Ms. Geetika Puri works full time as the Director for Philomath Research Ltd, New Delhi and is a visiting faculty of Human Resource area at Gitarattan International Business School, New Delhi and also with K.K. Modi International Institute, Noida who conducted the talk. This expert talk was conducted by Dr. Fehmina Khalique (Associate Professor, Lloyd Business School) for the PGDM III Trimester HR specialization students in order to provide a practical aspect to the theory subject "Compensation and Payroll Management". Ms. Puri explained the concept of Cost to Company and Net take home salary to the students along with ways to calculate the same. She also briefed about the components included in the CTC like HRA, medical benefits and deductions related to Provident Fund and ESI. The lecture focused on two perspectives, firstly, how students should negotiate their salaries with the employers and be mindful of any deductions made thereof; secondly, how HR managers can design the compensation of their organizations' employees. Students posed several questions from the speaker and the workshop ended with examples from the corporate world.
