Objectives:

The objective of this visit was to gain a comprehensive understanding of international freight forwarding, cargo handling, packing, and other details related to logistics.

Detailed Report:

The industrial visit was organized at Gurukul Logistics, located at IGI Airport Terminal 3. The visit aimed to provide insights into the processes involved in international freight forwarding. The event commenced with an introduction to Gurukul Logistics, which was established in 2019. The organization focuses on developing professionals with practical skills in the logistics industry. Within a short period, Gurukul Logistics has successfully trained numerous batches of logistics professionals.

Following the introduction session, Mr. Captain, an ex-Indian Army officer and the main trainer at Gurukul Logistics, conducted the second session. He provided a detailed explanation of international logistics, including how e-commerce companies operate and the intricacies of handling dangerous cargo, such as chemicals and reactive elements.

The third session was led by Mr. Yash Sharma, an ex-Indian Air Force officer and the head of Skyline Logistics. Mr. Sharma also took us on a guided tour of the warehouse. During the warehouse visit, students learned about various aspects, including the functioning of staging machines, types of pallets used, safety measures to be followed while working in the warehouse, and the processes of loading and unloading goods.

Learning Outcomes:

• Deep understanding of international logistics, including freight forwarding and cargo handling.
• Knowledge of warehouse management, including in-transit warehouse operations and proper handling of goods.
• Insights into the functioning of the e-commerce industry.

In conclusion, the industrial visit to Gurukul Logistics provided valuable insights into the workings of international freight forwarding, cargo handling, and related aspects of export. The sessions conducted by experienced professionals and the warehouse tour helped us gain practical knowledge in the field of logistics. The visit proved to be a great learning experience, contributing to our understanding of the industry's dynamics.
