The objective of the session was to inspire students to develop a success-oriented mindset, resilience, and self-discipline to achieve personal and professional goals. The session aimed to motivate participants to take ownership of their growth and performance. It was also done to guide students on habits, attitudes, and behaviors that support long-term success.
The institution organized an expert session on “The Emerging Trends in Marketing,” delivered by Mr. Arpan Gupta, Additional Director & Head – Mines, Metals, Cement, Power, Coal & Renewable Energy, who shared his extensive industry experience and insights into how marketing is evolving across both traditional and modern business sectors.
Mr. Gupta began by explaining that marketing has moved beyond its traditional role of promotion and sales and has become a strategic function focused on customer value, relationship building, and long-term brand positioning. He highlighted that even in core sectors such as mining, metals, cement, power, coal, and renewable energy, marketing is increasingly driven by data, digital platforms, customer experience, and sustainability considerations. He discussed several emerging trends shaping marketing today, including digital transformation, data-driven decision-making, content and thought leadership marketing, customer experience management, personalization, and the integration of sustainability into branding. He emphasized that organizations are shifting from product-centric to customer-centric approaches, focusing on understanding stakeholder needs and delivering long-term value. Mr. Gupta elaborated on how digital tools such as CRM systems, analytics platforms, social media, and online engagement channels are transforming how organizations interact with customers, partners, and stakeholders. He explained that transparency, responsiveness, and consistency have become critical for building trust and credibility.
He also highlighted the growing importance of sustainability and ESG considerations in marketing, especially in sectors with significant environmental and social impact. Mr. Gupta explained how responsible practices, environmental stewardship, and ethical conduct influence corporate reputation and stakeholder trust. Using examples from industries such as metals, cement, power, coal, and renewable energy, he illustrated how companies are adapting their marketing strategies to changing regulations, market competition, and customer expectations.
