Objective:
The objective of the session was to expose students to emerging trends and transformations In the HR function and to help them understand how HR is evolving in response to technological, organizational, and societal changes, also it is to familiarize participants with contemporary HR practices and prepare them for future roles in human resource management.
The institution organized an expert session on "Recent Trends in Human Resources,"
delivered by Mr. Manoj Kumar Sharma, Head HR at Aaj Enterprises, who shared his
professional insights into the evolving role of HR in modern organizations.
He
began by explaining how the HR function has transformed from a primarily
administrative and transactional role into a strategic business partner that
actively contributes to organizational growth, culture, and performance. He
emphasized that HR today plays a central role in talent strategy, organizational
development, leadership building, and change management.
Also, highlighted
several emerging trends shaping the HR landscape, including digital HR platforms,
people analytics, remote and hybrid working models, employee experience design,
diversity and inclusion initiatives, employer branding, and continuous learning
ecosystems. He explained how these trends are driven by technological advancement,
globalization, and changing workforce demographics. He elaborated on the use of
technologies such as artificial intelligence, automation, and data analytics in HR
processes. He discussed how Al-powered recruitment tools improve talent sourcing and
screening, how analytics supports performance management and retention strategies,
and how digital platforms enhance employee engagement and learning. He also
addressed the evolving expectations of employees, including the demand for
flexibility, work-life balance, mental and emotional well-being, career development,
and meaningful work.
He stressed that organizations must respond to these
expectations by creating supportive, inclusive, and purpose-driven workplace
cultures. He encouraged students to prepare themselves holistically for HR careers.
The session included practical illustrations from corporate environments, which
helped students connect theoretical HR concepts with real-world
applications.
It was concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment,
where students discussed career opportunities, skill development pathways,
certifications, and future directions in the HR profession.
