Objectives:

The objective of the session was to create awareness among students and participants about the vision of Viksit Bharat–2047 and the strategic role of the securities and financial markets in supporting India’s long-term economic development.

The session aimed to help participants understand how capital markets facilitate investment, innovation, infrastructure development, financial inclusion, and sustainable growth in line with national development goals.

The institution organized an expert session on “Viksit Bharat–2047: Role of the Securities Market,” delivered by Shri Ashwani Bhatia, Managing Director, State Bank of India, who shared his perspectives on how financial markets contribute to India’s journey toward becoming a developed economy by 2047.

Shri Bhatia emphasized that a robust, transparent, and inclusive securities market is essential for mobilizing long-term capital for infrastructure, manufacturing, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

He explained how capital markets support economic growth by enabling efficient allocation of resources, encouraging domestic and foreign investment, and strengthening financial stability.

He also discussed the importance of investor awareness, regulatory frameworks, corporate governance, and financial literacy in building trust and participation in the securities market. Shri Bhatia highlighted how digitalization and fintech innovations are expanding access to financial services and enhancing market efficiency.

The session further addressed the role of financial institutions in promoting sustainable finance, green investments, and responsible business practices aligned with environmental and social goals.

The session concluded by encouraging students to understand the functioning of financial markets and to actively participate in India’s growth story through informed financial and professional decisions
