Objectives:

The objective of the Alumni Talk was to provide the newly admitted PGDM 2025–27 students with practical exposure to the rapidly evolving field of Data Science through the experiences of an accomplished alumnus working in the industry. The session aimed to help students understand the growing significance of Data Science and Business Intelligence across industries, familiarize them with current industry practices and technological advancements, and guide them in developing the technical and professional competencies required to build successful careers in the data-driven business environment.

Lloyd Business School organized an insightful Alumni Talk under the Margdarshan Alumni Talk Series for the PGDM Batch 2025–27 on 18th July 2026. The online session, titled "Data Science – Industry Insights & Practical Applications," was conducted with the objective of exposing students to the practical applications of Data Science and Business Intelligence while enabling them to understand the skills and competencies required to excel in this rapidly growing domain.

The session featured Mr. Vibhor Bansal, Senior Software Engineer – Business Intelligence at Celebal Technologies and an esteemed alumnus of Lloyd Business School (Batch 2021–23). Drawing upon his professional journey from management education to the technology industry, Mr. Bansal shared valuable insights into the increasing role of Data Science in organizational decision-making and business transformation. The Institutional Vision, Mission, and Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs) were also presented and disseminated to all participants.

Mr. Vibhor Bansal explained how organizations leverage data analytics, artificial intelligence, and business intelligence tools to improve operational efficiency, enhance customer experiences, and support strategic decision-making. He highlighted the practical applications of Data Science across multiple industries, emphasizing the growing demand for professionals capable of analyzing complex datasets and converting them into meaningful business insights.

The speaker further discussed the essential technical competencies required to build a successful career in the field, including proficiency in analytical thinking, data visualization, programming fundamentals, database management, and emerging AI-driven technologies. He encouraged students to focus on continuous learning through certifications, practical projects, internships, and hands-on experience to remain competitive in the rapidly evolving digital ecosystem.

During the interactive session, students actively participated by raising questions related to career opportunities, required technical skills, placement preparation, higher studies, and industry expectations. Mr. Bansal addressed each query with practical examples from his professional experience, providing students with valuable guidance on career planning, skill development, and adapting to emerging technological trends.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks to the distinguished alumnus for sharing his valuable time, professional experiences, and practical guidance. The Alumni Talk successfully reinforced Lloyd Business School's commitment to strengthening alumni engagement while equipping students with industry-relevant knowledge and preparing them for successful careers in the technology-driven business landscape through the Margdarshan Alumni Talk Series.
