The objective of the Alumni Connect and Mock Interview session was to provide PGDM students of the 2025–2027 batch at Lloyd Business School with practical insights into professional expectations and career development. The session aimed to help students learn from the experiences of alumni, understand industry requirements, enhance their communication and interpersonal skills, and gain practical exposure to the interview process through mock interviews. It also focused on building confidence, improving interview preparedness, identifying areas for self-improvement, and equipping students with the skills required to successfully navigate future placement and career opportunities.
The Alumni Connect: Mock Interview Series was organized on September 19th, 2026 (Saturday) for the PGDM Batch 2025–27 students of Lloyd Business School with the objective of providing them with practical exposure to the corporate world, professional expectations, and the interview process.
The session began with Mr. Anubhav Prasad Saxena, Senior Media Analyst at Concept BIU and an alumnus of Lloyd Business School (Batch 2023–25), being formally introduced to the students by Ms. Fehmina, Associate Dean, Lloyd Business School. Following the introduction, Mr. Anubhav introduced himself and briefly shared his professional journey and experiences with the students. The Institutional Vision, Mission, and Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs) were also presented and disseminated to all participants.
Mr. Anubhav then emphasized the importance of having a well-structured and professional resume. He advised students to ensure that their resumes are ATS-friendly, as many organizations use Applicant Tracking Systems during the recruitment process.
He highlighted that students should focus on making their resumes relevant, clear, and aligned with the requirements of the position they are applying for. He also emphasized the importance of developing a problem-solving mindset, as organizations look for candidates who can understand challenges and contribute to finding effective solutions.
The speaker encouraged students to never hesitate during an interview and to give their 100% effort while answering questions. He explained that confidence, preparation, and the ability to communicate one's thoughts effectively are important aspects of an interview.
He also discussed how students should respond when they are not selected for an interview or recruitment opportunity. Rather than considering rejection as the end of the process, students should identify where they lacked or what could have been improved, work on those areas, and prepare better for future opportunities.
During the session, Mr. Anubhav also shared aspects of his professional journey and informed students about his previous work experience with Unacademy and Physics Wallah (PW). His professional experiences provided students with an insight into different organizational environments and the challenges that professionals may encounter during their careers.
He also discussed multiple challenges faced by companies in the corporate environment, helping students understand that professional life involves dealing with different kinds of problems and that employees are expected to approach these challenges with a positive and problem-solving attitude.
For students planning to pursue Finance as their specialization, Mr. Anubhav highlighted the relevance of NISM certifications, specifically mentioning NISM Series V, VIII and XV as certifications that students may consider based on their career interests.
The discussion helped students understand the importance of supplementing their academic knowledge with relevant industry-oriented certifications and skills.
After completing the interactive discussion and sharing his professional guidance, Mr. Anubhav began the mock interview session with the students. The interviews provided students with an opportunity to experience a professional interview environment and apply the guidance discussed during the session.
Through the mock interviews, students were able to understand the importance of effective communication, confidence, resume presentation, problem-solving ability, clarity of career goals, and professional attitude while appearing for interviews.
