Objectives:
The IPR Awareness Programme was organized with the following objectives:
- To create awareness about Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) among students and
academicians.
- To educate participants on the importance of patents, trademarks, designs, and
copyrights.
- To promote innovation, creativity, and protection of intellectual assets.
- To familiarize participants with IPR laws and filing procedures in India.
- To support the vision of Creative India and Innovative India under NIPAM.
- To encourage responsible use and protection of intellectual property.
Detailed Report
Day 1: Introduction to Intellectual Property Rights
The first day of the programme focused on providing a comprehensive introduction to
Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). The session explained the concept, need, and
scope of intellectual property in today’s knowledge-driven economy.
Key topics discussed included:
- Meaning and significance of Intellectual Property.
- Overview of different forms of IPR such as patents, trademarks, copyrights, and
designs.
- Role of IPR in innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic growth.
- Government initiatives under the National Intellectual Property Awareness
Mission (NIPAM).

Day 2: Patents and Trademark Awareness
