Connected/Automated Vehicles: Future Transport and Mobility

Students of Lloyd Business School virtually attended a workshop on “Connected Automated Vehicles Workshop: Future Transport and Mobility” organized by Queensland University of Technology at Dubai Expo 2020. The workshop was focused upon the future of automated vehicles. The speakers explained in depth the challenges that automated vehicles encounter in today’s world. Through extensive research the speakers highlighted the emphasis of artificial intelligence and data sharing in the logistics and consumer transport industry.

Prof. (Dr.) Sebastien Glaser discussed the importance of automated Vehicles and explained how AV improves access to mobility and creates competitive advantage by increasing transport efficiency and productivity.

Dr. Moahmmed Elhenawy shed light on their project of CHAD (Cooperative and Highly Automated Driving). He explains how they are developing data sharing for drivers that provides them real time data and helps them in decision making while driving, which ultimately helps in more secure logistics.

Dr. Mahmoud Masoud talked about how a real time centre is being developed that will share information among drivers. C-ITS will be a transportation system where cooperation between two or more vehicles or personnel is established so one alerts the other of any hindrance ahead.

The workshop was focused on the road ahead for automated vehicles.
