A four day training of Descriptive Analytics was conducted by IBM Trainer Ms. Rohini Matta (proficient in Java, Big Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence & IBM COGNOS) for PGDM Business Analytics Students. Descriptive Analytics is a preliminary stage of data processing that creates a summary of historical data and uses Data Aggregation & Data Mining to yield useful information explaining the past patterns & trends. As businesses leverage upon their decision making, crucial how they collect & analyse the data to make better decisions is crucial for their success. Descriptive analytics is meant to provide an accurate picture of what has happened in a business and how that differs from other comparable periods. These performance metrics can be used to flag areas of strength and weakness in order to plan the management’s strategy.The training enabled the students to have hands on experience on IBM tools&clarify their doubts. To examine & prepare students for IBM certification, a mock test was conducted on the last day of training.
