GATI SHAKTI: Transforming India’s Infrastructure

Gati-Shakti is a national master plan of INR 100 Trillion for multi modal connectivity to economic zones in the country launched by our Hon’ble Prime Minister. PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) launched the Gati Shakti Development forum to give more Gati (Speed) and Shakti (Power) to the national master plan. To give exposure of Industry and teach students new ways to learn in professional field and interact with experienced Professionals this visit was undertaken for our students of PGDM in collaboration with PHDCCI.

The conference was focused on updated status of 7 engines under PM Gati Shakti: National Master Plan (Railway, Road, Ports, Waterways, Airports, Mass Transport & Logistics Infrastructure) and explore the possible synergies between industry and government. Our Students were part of the 4 sessions one being Inaugural Session moderated by Mr. Mohit Luthra, Assistant Secretary General, PHDCCI Theme address by Mr. Ashish Wig ,Chair, Gati Shakti Development Forum, PHDCCI with inaugural addresses by Guest of Honor Shri. Amrit Lal Meena, IAS and Chief Guest General (Dr.) V.K. Singh PVSM, AVSM,YSM (Retd.) Hon’ble Minister of State for Road and Transport & Highways and Civil Aviation, Govt. of India and the other 3 were Technical Sessions, First being – “Empowering Seamless Transport Infrastructure Network in India”. Second was – “Convergence of Modern Railway Infrastructure “and third was “Efficient Logistics Sector for sustained economic growth”.

Students got the chance to know how the construction of huge highways and airports take place, they actively participated in these insightful sessions First talking about Approaches of Govt. undertaking these enormous projects and 36 upcoming plans for the same, new highways that are being built or in talks for initiation. Second session talked about Last mile connectivity, MMLP Multi Mode Linguistic Park, Roll-On and Roll-off Services and the need of transparency in Gati Shakti. Third Session talked about importance of Supply Chain and logistics in sustained growth of economy. After end of every session Students were open to ask any questions to the panel members, our students participated actively in that.

Students become aware about the recent development of new ports, highways, airports and logistics infrastructure and got to interact personally with the corporate giants present their, They learned about the industry requirements in today’s world, latest trends of the Supply Chain sector. They were also provided certificates for participation in the same.
